ACLS Receives Faithful Servant Recognition

The Association of Consultants for Liturgical Space (ACLS) has been honored with the Southwest Liturgical Conference's Faithful Servant award for 2026.
Each January, during the Annual Study Week, the SWLC Board of Directors bestows a distinguished award to honor individuals who have made exceptional and enduring contributions to the work of liturgical renewal across the region. This tradition reflects the Conference’s deep appreciation for those whose dedication, creativity, and faith have helped shape and enliven the worship life of the Church, whether through music, education, pastoral leadership, or other forms of liturgical ministry.
These awards are more than expressions of gratitude; they are symbols of recognition for lives devoted to the beauty and integrity of the liturgy. They also serve as a source of inspiration for those newly engaged in liturgical service, reminding all who labor in this ministry that their efforts; rooted in faith and guided by the Spirit—continue to enrich the prayer and communal life of the people of God. This year, 2026, the Board elected to extend this award to an organization: The Association of Consultants for Liturgical Space (ACLS). In presenting the award, Ken Griesemer spoke of how, for ten years, ACLS has partnered with SWLC on the Art and Architecture track for the annual study week. ACLS has also been engaged with the Conference in other capacities, and many members regularly participate and exhibit in the annual study week. In expressing gratitude for this recognition, current ACLS President George R. Hoelzeman noted that ACLS is a real community of liturgical consultants, architects and artists which exists to serve the Church. The organization is wholly dedicated to contribute to the beauty of places of worship and to the building up of the Body of Christ through the creative Arts.
ACLS is deeply appreciative of this recognition and we look forward to continuing our mission to the Church and to the world.
