Work Philosophy

For a church to be functional it first needs to be beautiful! This will happen through careful collaboration of people of faith, and their chosen professionals united with a common vision. In order for this expression to be realized most fully, it is my role as the Liturgical Design Consultant to assist the community in solidifying their understanding of church through their faithful response. On this journey of faith the community is united in a common purpose, expression of faith and vision. The process that will unfold will be uniquely theirs. I find direction in the documents of the church - both local and universal - and the collective wisdom of the community.

Services and Qualifications

As a design consultant I am able to assist forming the parish/institution in a vision for their place of worship by building consensus among their committee members and working with qualified architects and artist to fulfill their vision, in union with the church. I will;

- assist the community in the development of a vision for the construction or renovation of their liturgical space by establishing design principles for ritual and sacred space.

- analyze and visualize liturgical space for the rites of the church.

- offer analytical critique with practical design solutions.

- assist the community with the selection of artists to fulfill their sacred vision of space.

- provide and assist the committee in the ongoing liturgical education of their community.

- work collaboratively with multi-parish, merged or collaborating parish settings.
